First post in english, so Yalu our AirBnB host from Melaka can see what we are writing about his nice bridge street cafe & loft.
Melaka is a nice town with some sights like the clock tower, chicken rice balls, jonker street, the oldest chinese temple and of course the bridge street cafe and loft! The temperature at the end of July was high. And there is not much wind. So it was quiet hot down town.
As a party of tree, it was hard to find a backpacker over the weekend. So I decided to check out AirBnB another time. And there I found the guesthouse of Yalu.
From KL we went by bus to Melaka Sentral. From there we took bus #17 to the clock tower. Some kind of the center of Melaka. On this bus we met two swiss guys, and told them about the place we were going to stay and told them that there would be space for two other persons. So Andrea and Marco joined us.
We had a verry good time in Melaka. Yalu did a great job and brought us to good food locations, gave us advises for nice places and coffee houses like the bamboo coffee house, where i got the best ice blendet cappuccino ever (OK, it was also the first one).
But for me the best thing was that Yalu told us about singer-songwriter Aki Huang. We went to her concert. The restaurant was quiet empty as we got there. In the front a guy with his electrical guitar and Aki with her wooden guitar. At the beginning I was a bit sceptical. Cause Yalu told me she will sing chinese and english. So we orderd drinks and waited until they began.
And then, wou! Her voice was incredible! And even more incredible, she didn’t want a contract with a big label. She wants to sing what she wants and nothing more.
So Nadine asked Yalu if he has some songs from her. Yalu said yes and the other day he gave Nadine a CD.
So that was our Melaka. We realy enjoied it!
Many thanx to Yalu.
